Who are you?
Ah-ha a question that I have been asked many
a time. Who am I? Well I answer to many names, Yowie, Geoffrey, Hugo but my
parents did originally name me Iain. Yes that’s Iain with two I’s. I have
recently turned 18 and love it. I am an adult! That’s just plain weird!

All Creation Declares The Glory Of
God.
What kind of family do you
come from?
A slightly strange one… but
that’s ok I fit right in. It’s like we’re all family or something. But I
have a mother, a father an older sister and an older brother. And they are
great… most of the time.

Canteen runs are always fun too!
Plans for the future?
Well as most things are for
me; my plans for the future are subject to change, however at the present
time I am planning on becoming an upper Primary teacher so that I can keep
working with youth. I shall be heading to the Cradle Coast campus. I am also
interested in getting a pyrotechnic licence at some point in the future. I
would also like to get married sometime. However first I need to find my
future wife. So if you’re reading this then feel free to get in touch, I
don’t mind.

Why are you doing the Super Squad course?

Alas not a blindfolded Robin Hood or William Tell
How are you
feeling about the rest of the summer?
I feel
quite excited about whats coming up for the rest of the summer, a little
nervous perhaps but that is just plain natural.

That's me showing off my break-dancing skills...
What types
of things have you done so far in the course?
Lots of
things, I have helped in the kitchen with Erica and that was a load of fun.
The meat slicer is great fun as is the meat tenderiser.
Painting
the Villa roof was an… interesting experience, I’m not a big fan of roofs or
ladders but I still got up there so I’m proud of myself for that.
I’ve helped
Bruce do some of his checklists and then yesterday Erica and I gave Alex a
hand performing maintenance on some of the activities. I.e. whipper-snippering
the path near the flying fox and up near the archery range.
Today I
have the wonderful job of admin, and it is grand. I have answered a phone
and talked to Stu and also done my website. I used far too many ands in that
last sentence but I can’t be bothered going back to change it.

Don't worry, this one wasn't me...
Have you
met any staff that you have learnt something from?
I learn
something new from all of the staff and they are all fantastic to work with!
Thanks guys! (and girls) They all have such wonderful attitudes towards the
work that they do, you can forget that your doing work!

This is I, Yowie the disco hero!
What church do you attend?
Devonport Church of Christ.
Which is really friendly and cool, and the youth there rock!

My Family for the Summer. Aren't we
cute?
What are your likes, dislikes,
hobbies, school attending?
What be my likes? Hmmmm interesting little
question there. I love hanging with my friends, playing games on the
computer or working with youth in some way. They’re all just plain fun. I
like reading too, that is muchly grand. I also LOVE pasta with chicken,
creamed corn and broccoli… mmmm yummy. It is so good when Mum makes it.
Dislikes… ummmm definitely brussel sprouts…
people who walk over other people. And that is about all I can think of for
my dislikes… at the moment anyway. Oh wait I can think of one more thing.
Onions… second stupidest food in the world. (The first of course being
Brussel Sprouts)
British comedy is rather funny I do say, and
being a comedian is a slight hobby of mine. Other people seem to laugh in
the right spots so I guess I can make them laugh… either that or they just
feel sorry for me.…. hmmm either way works for me though!
I have just finished year 12 at Don and am on
my way to Uni this year for a shot at a Bachelor of Education so I can teach
upper primary… scary thought that I am old enough for Uni already...

Our first hint that Alex liked blindfolds...
Tell me about the training
week you had? What did you like? What was challenging?
The Training week was brilliant, however I
guess if you have read the other Super Squad member’s sites then you would
know that Alex Grey, one of our co-ordinators, likes to blindfold people.
Even when we have to climb ladders for the High ropes course. But hey that
was fun, I danced my way across the log making a complete and utter fool of
myself so I was happy. The rest of the training week was pretty bonza too
and I was surprised but the cleaning is rather fun. Shock horror. I just
can’t let my mother hear me say that at all.

Hmmm, if I stand up now they should all come sliding
down... sounds fun!
What are
you looking forward to?
I am
looking forward to the activities with Alex and learning how to run those,
especially as I am over 18 so I can be assessed and then called in as casual
staff after the summer. I am also looking forward to supervising 7/8 with
Troy.

Proof that I did go on the roof. I'm not saying I
didn't squeal like a girl at times but I still got on the roof.
Which camp
are you supervising and what are you excited about?
I’m doing
7/8 and it is going to be awesome, especially the bit where we… hang on…
that’s a surprise. You’ll just have to come to the camp to find out!

Before...
Anything
else you want to tell me?
Super Squad
is lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of fun and I love it!
