Who are you?
Nikki Jane Grandfield
What church do you attend?
Sidmouth Presbyterian
What are your likes, dislikes,
hobbies, school attending?
This year I’m in year 12 at Launnie Christian School, and I’m
taking biology, maths applied, sociology, adventure Ed, and catering.
I have quite a lot of interests and hobbies, including
gymnastics, photography, motorbike riding, tae kwon do, and water sports. I
love the beach! (Even though we all nearly drowned there on Friday) I also
like drawing, and I play the piano.
I like my friends and my boyfriend matt, my parents, sports,
leading at camp, and eating chocolate.
I don’t like nasty people, the soundtrack for high school
musical, (blegh) fluro clothing, and maths.
Plans for the future?
After I finish year 12, I want to study nursing at uni.
Someday I want to go to Africa and teach the local people how to do things
like deliver babies and give vaccinations. I think that little things like
that could make a big difference to the health of a third world country.
Why are you doing the Super
Squad course?
I want to get experience in lots of different areas of
ministry, as well as challenging myself and growing closer to God.
What are you looking forward
to?
Supervising!
Which camp are you supervising
and what are you excited about?
I’m supervising the junior girl’s camp next week and I can’t
wait! I would be most looking forward to the dance party and Fort Knox, only
we have training times at the same time as both of those! L
Have you met any staff that
you have learnt something from?
So far I haven’t really talked to a lot of the staff, however
I have learnt a lot from the time we’ve spent with Bruce. I think we all
learnt how to be a bit more humble, as well as how to keep a positive
attitude, even when you’re cleaning the toilet!
What types of challenges have
you done? What was good about them? What was hard?
Well, to start off I have to talk about the blindfolds. I
swear, Alex has a fetish for making people do things blindfolded! One of our
first squad challenges involved completing parts of the challenge course,
the team rescue, and – wait for it – THE HIGH ROPES, blindfolded.
We also had a judo lesson with a guy called John Deacon,
which was really funny, and we visited the Eliza Purton Home for the Aged.

10/1/08 Well,
time for an update! After our first week of work we're all pretty tired and
I've managed to give quite a few people the flu! Being sick has been a bit
of a challenge but its been really awesome seeing how much my fellow Super
Squaders care for me - even if that means forcing me to go to bed early and
making me take my medicine... I would
have to say that kitchen days are my favourite work days so far, coz I love
cooking. I've also learnt a lot from our training times. Today Andrew Turner
talked to us about poverty and illnesses in
the world today, which are things I feel very strongly about. If you have
time, check out

According to this website, I am in the top
14% of wage earners in the world! (and I don't even have a job!)
Till next time!

Hey there everyone! This will
be my third and I guess final update for the summer, as we are all leaving
one Saturday. It’s a bit sad, although I’ll be really happy to be able to
sleep in my own bed again!
Well,
heaps has happened since I last updated this thing…we’ve been on a retreat,
worked on a coffee trailer ministering to Burnie’s Friday night drunks,
climbed a mountain and built a bouldering wall (which is like the rock wall
only 2 metres tall and you climb sideways). There’s been a lot of hard
work, but I’m still having heaps of fun.
Erica
and I also had a ball supervising the junior girl’s camp a couple of weeks
ago. I’m actually roommate-less at the moment, as she’s gone to New Zealand.
Well,
that’s about it for now…enjoy the rest of your summer!
Toodles
